Africa: "Three Zeros" Initiative Launched to End Maternal Deaths In Dar es Salaam, Africa CDC and the African Union today launched a renewed continental roadmap to end preventable maternal and child deaths by 2030. The Targets: Dubbed the "Three Zeros," the initiative aims for: Zero home deliveries without skilled care. Zero preventable maternal and newborn deaths. Zero unvaccinated children. Leadership: Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan was recognized as the AU Champion for Maternal and Child Health, highlighting Tanzania's m-Mama emergency referral model as a blueprint for the continent.
